I recently shared my Trauma Reporting training with the UN, at a gathering in Bangkok.
Importantly, it allowed me to give a voice, on an international stage, to trauma survivors who had been interviewed by journalists. Generously and constructively, the survivors share their insight around what harmed and what helped them to be able to tell their painful stories.
Journalists attending the Trauma Reporting training find the insight fascinating. It’s powerful. It helps them to tell the stories that matter, better.
Huge thanks to UNESCO and to United Nations System Staff College (UNSSC) for inviting me to speak. Being heard at this level means a lot to me but more significantly to the victims and survivors who choose to share their experiences with us
