Training Ukrainian Journalists in Trauma Reporting | Trauma Reporting

I am currently training Ukrainian journalists in Trauma Reporting.

They are fellow journalists. They are hurting. They are courageous, committed and resilient. They are extraordinary.

Running workshops with them is inspiring and heart-breaking.

They are endlessly reporting people’s trauma beyond trauma.
Yet their passion for sharing people’s tough emotional stories, making a difference and reflecting what’s going on in their communities is overwhelming to witness.

Often the workshops, arranged through BBC Media Action , run well over time. There is much to share and discuss and the journalists really value good practice, which they can apply to their work with victims and survivors.

I share this on #Ukraine Independence Day because many of my connections are journalists and media teams and I wish to honour the work of our colleagues in conflict
